Privacy Policy
Short version
Kompress compresses videos entirely on your device. Your videos never leave your phone, we don't have accounts, we don't track you across apps, and we don't sell data. The app doesn't even need an internet connection to compress a video — try it in airplane mode.

Your videos
All compression runs on your device using the phone's own hardware encoder. Your videos are never uploaded, transmitted, or stored on any server operated by us or any third party. The original file is never modified without your explicit action; compressed copies are saved only to your device's gallery.
When you choose to delete an original after compression, that deletion happens on your device and cannot be undone by us — we never have a copy.
Data the app may send
Kompress communicates with our backend only for the following optional, anonymous functions:
- App maintenance and version gating — the app checks whether the current version is able to compress reliably, or whether maintenance is underway. This check contains no personal data.
- Feedback you send us — if you use the in-app feedback form, we receive what you typed (plus your name and email only if you choose to provide them). We use it to fix bugs and reply to you. Nothing else.
The app contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising SDKs, no crash-reporting services, and no cross-app trackers.
Local storage
Kompress stores your settings (theme, language, save preferences) and your compression statistics (number of videos, space freed) locally on your device. This data never leaves your device and is removed when you uninstall the app.
Permissions
- Photos / media access — required to read the videos you pick and to save compressed copies. The app accesses only what you select.
- Files access — only when you pick a video from the Files app.
We don't request contacts, location, microphone, or any other permission.
Third-party services
Store listings and app updates are handled by Apple's App Store and Google Play under their own privacy policies. This website (getkompress.app) is served through Cloudflare, which may process standard web request logs.
Children's privacy
Kompress is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal data from anyone, including children.
Your rights
Because we collect no personal data, there is nothing to export, correct, or delete on our side. If you've contacted us by email, you can ask us to delete that correspondence at any time via [email protected].
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the in-app changelog. The short version will not change: your videos stay on your device.
